Joining forces with U.S. Cellular, Samsung has put forth Samsung Character, an easy to use touch-slide phone. Samsung says that it is suitable for users who would like an interactive and entertaining phone.

It is a slide-out QWERTY handset with 1.3MP camera and 2.8-inch QVGA TFT touchscreen. For widget support, it offers three main menu screens in addition to three homescreens. Loaded with easy edge SM service which enables easy downloading of wallpapers and ringtones, Samsung character operates on Samsung TouchWiz Lite. Offering an array of 72 polyphonic ringtones, it also features the Native Music Player with microSD card support.

The phone comes with a built-in browser, speakerphone and voice recognition software along with Bluetooth Stereo (v2.1) wireless technology and GPS technology. This handset weighs 43 ounces and is 2.18” x 4.2” x .58” in size. Its 3.7 Volt Lithium Ion, 1000mAh battery offers a talk time of up to 5 hours.

Samsung Character phone is now available and can be picked in blue or grey hue for a price of $39.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate.
