Nokia unleashes X7 smartphone packed with entertainment features

When Nokia came clean on what they were planning for Symbian, the company offered up a pair of handsets running the new version of their OS. Going by the Nokia Conversations blog, the company doffed the silk off its new Nokia X7 smartphone along with the Nokia E6.

The Nokia X7 is jacketed by a stainless steel casing and sports damage resistant glass for optimum durability. Touted to be the first 4” touchscreen entertainment smartphone from Nokia’s quarters, the display proffers attributes like 16m color and 640 x 360p resolution visuals. It is powered by Nokia’s new-fangled Symbian Anna.

The body weighs around 146g, measures 119.7mm x 62.8mm x 11.9mm and is comparatively thinner around the edges. It integrates an 8MP FF and dual LED flash-enabled camera equipped with 720p HD video recording for photography enthusiasts.

This device provides Pentaband 2G/3G network connectivity along with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n support. It comes equipped with a 1,200mAh battery capable of providing talk time of approximately 4.5 hours and standby time of up to 450 hours 3G. Social networking buffs can easily access sites like Facebook and Twitter by employing Nokia Social.

For gaming enthusiasts, the X7 features the pre-loaded Asphalt 5 HD and Galaxy on Fire HD titles. Additionally, users can also download a multitude of apps and games via the Ovi Store. It includes an 8GB memory card that can be swapped with another microSD card offering a capacity of up to 32GB.

The new Nokia X7 smartphone is most likely to hit stores shelves during the second quarter of this year. It is estimated to retail at around €380.
