The Android version of the Google TV Remote app was launched in December last year. Google has now announced the iOS version of Google TV Remote for the Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

With this app, users can employ their iOS 3 or later device as an actual remote control. According to the official Google TV blog, it enables performing normal functions like switching channels, turning the TV on/off or accessing the DVR and more right from the gizmos in their pockets.

The Google TV Remote app includes an interesting voice search feature that lets people look up movies or television shows by speaking into the device. It features arrow keys, a mouse pad and an array of buttons for performing any concerned task. The back light makes spotting any specific button on the remote relatively easy even in dark conditions.

The Google TV Remote app can be downloaded for free via the iTunes App Store.
