As the Sony Ericsson Vivaz dressed in AT&T’s banner gears up to dazzle the world, the company has dulcet news in store for it users. Mobile aficionados who own a Sony Ericsson phone or intend to, might be happy to know that the company is planning to bring them an Android 2.1 update. The company’s Twitter page is posted with the news of the upgrade coming by September end .

Sony Ericsson UK tweets, “We can only confirm that the upgrade to Android 2.1 is due for release before the end of September this year. We hope this helps.”

With the world going gaga on the Android 2.2, we’re not sure of how welcome would the Android 2.1 upgrade be. It is anticipated by the mobile terrain that this might unfurl for the Xperia family. Weeks before, the Xperia X10 was unveiled coming through AT&T with a price tag of $149.99.

It is expected to be an added blessing for all those Sony Ericsson consumers who are looking out for something fresh for their handsets. Since it has been posted by the UK branch, it is still unsure whether it will come to the U.S. End of September seems to be pretty vague availability details, so until something more official than a Twitter post comes along, the upgrade still seems pretty ambiguous.
