Blackberry Curve 3G 9300 officially revealed, offers support for Blackberry 6

Blackberry Curve 3G RIM’s recent release of the BlackBerry 6 OS sure has fans waiting to get a first-hands experience of the interface. The company endows one more phone with BlackBerry 6 namely the Curve 3G 9300. Though shipped with version 5 of the company’s operating system, RIM says the handset is BlackBerry 6 ready. Yes, with this version users can enjoy an enhanced multimedia experience and some easy-to-use features.

The handset comes packed with a full QWERTY keyboard and optical trackpad which is located on the front while to the right is the ESC key and the menu key is situated towards the left. In dimensions of around 4.29” x 2.36” x 0.55”, the phone weighs merely 3.7 ounces. It flaunts a TFT LCD 320×240 pixel color display which supports over 65,000 colors. The device is also equipped with a 2MP camera alongside fixed focus and video recording.

Mobile aficionados can enjoy their favorite videos as well as songs through this device. It supports video format MPEG4, H.263, H.264, WMV9 and audio format like MP3, AMR-NB, AAC-LC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, Flac, Ogg Vorbis. Users can store media content on a 256MB flash memory or 256MB SDRAM. With the support of the microSD card slot, the memory of the handset can be expanded as well. Alongside, the device also enables various messaging options like email, text, instant messaging and Blackberry Messenger.

The phone is fitted with a 3.5mm stereo headset and is integrated with a speaker and microphone as well. It also supports hands-free and Bluetooth capabilities and is tailored for Tri-band UMTS networks amd Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks. Other than Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, the handset also buttresses Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. With Wi-Fi being Cisco CCX certified, users can access Blackberry Enterprise Server and Internet Bundle effortlessly. Besides, the handset consists of a built-in GPS functionality and Blackberry Maps as well.

With an 1150mAHr removable or rechargeable lithium-ion battery users can enjoy a GSM talktime of up to 4.5 hours and UMTS up to 5.5 hours. Standby time for GSM can be extended up to 19 days where as for UMTS up to 14.5 days and music can be played continuously for about 29 hours. Users can also safeguard their precious devices with a Password or Keyboard lock.

The price and availability of the handset is carrier dependent. As of now its availability has been revealed through Rogers and T-Mobile.
