Pac-Man iPhone

This is a good news for all ardent Pac-Man fans who also happen to own an iPhone. The well-loved Pac-Man title is now set to allure iPhone users through the iTunes Store.

This version 2.0.0 of the game is integrated with Namco’s online community supported by UniteSDK. It allows users to make personalized profiles, track their achievements, add friends and chat with them. Users can even publish and compare their scores on global leaderboards.

Players can evade annoying ghosts by tilting or rotating the phone in the Accelerometer Mode. To chew the dots players can move fingers in Swipe Mode and fruits can be gulped down for bonus points. The game’s design includes Original, Normal and Easy Modes as well as three new control functions.

Users can use the onscreen Directional Pad to navigate through the mazes in D-pad Mode. All the dots must be eaten to proceed to the next level. An extra life can be gained after 10,000 points have been won. Players must aim at reaching high levels and acquiring maximum scores.

The blinking Power Pellets can be used to weaken the power of ghosts temporarily and devour them before they regain their powers. Players have to avoid Blinky, the chief villain and his companion ghosts Pinky, Inky and Clyde to stay in the game.

The game is available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish and is about 3.6MB in size. It works with iPhone OS 3.1 or later versions.

Pac-Man is compatible with Phone, iPod touch, and iPad. It is available through iTunes for $4.99.
