The Game Developers Conference 2010 witnessed several exciting announcements from various quarters. For football fanatics, Electronic Arts declared that the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa game will soon hit the iPhone through Apple’s AppStore.

According to Wireless.ign, apart from heading to the iPhone, EA’s latest title is also set to be released on other platforms. The company is touted to have made efficient use of in-game imagery and the branding of South Africa, though additional details from official quarters are unavailable as of now.

This game is anticipated to be launched as an iPad version too since the tablet is set to hit stores on April 3, 2010, while the title’s release date falls on April 30 this year. Until more details on the football title emerge, interested gamers ought to be happy that the launch date has been made official by EA.
