Dynamic Controls iPhone App

Dynamic Controls has explored the iPhone’s capabilities by introducing an innovative app that enables users to control their wheel chair via their Apple device. The promising solution connects the wheel chair with the iPhone via Bluetooth.

The Dynamic Controls iPhone app displays chair information in real time as well as speed in kph or mph and also compass heading. A cradle mount is also offered that enables the mounting of the iPhone or iPod Touch onto the wheelchair.

CEO of Dynamic Controls, Charlotte Walshe mentioned, “We recognised the iPhone has revolutionized the way people communicate and saw the opportunity to develop this solution for wheelchair users, taking full advantage of Apple’s ‘Works with iPod / Made for iPhone’ developer program.”

The app features an on-chair charger for the iPhone and a ‘chair doctor’ wheelchair diagnostics feature that interprets problems with the wheelchair. The wheel chair controller app offers connectivity features like displaying the status of wheelchair, IR and Wi-Fi appliance control, on-chair connected devices and direct access to Dynamic Controls’ website.

The new technology operates with the iPhone 3G, 3GS as well as iPod Touch V2.0 and 3.0.

The app is expected to be launched by April 2010.
