HD Radio now available for iPhone

Gigaware HD Radio Accessory iBiquity recently entered the mobile market by introducing the Gigaware navigation control HD Radio receiver accessory and the HD Radio application. The combo of app and accessory will enable iPhone and iPod touch users to tune into HD Radio broadcasts.

The HD Radio module is available for iPhone and iPod Touch updated with 3.0 software. The software presents an intuitive, user-friendly interface, manual tune wheel or auto-seek option. Further, it allows users to connect with their friends through e-mail, Twitter and Facebook. Users can also preview content currently airing and select a main station or multicast channel stream.

iPhone users can bookmark their favorite stations and multicast channels. The Gigaware navigation accessory is equipped with an iTunes tagging button that enables users to ‘tag’ songs for future review and purchase via iTunes. The iPhone accessory can be connected to the device by attaching it to the dock connector.

Play, stop, pause, forward, backward and scan controls are now activated just by a finger touch. The Gigaware navigation control HD Radio receiver also allows users to discover HD2 substations hidden between the regular stations.

The Gigaware HD Radio accessory is retailed at RadioShack for an MSRP of $79.99.
