Well, almost every day we come across atleast one new iPhone app. And now joining this overcrowded app market is the iDriver iPhone app, reports Mobilecrunch. What’s different? Well this unique app converts regular cars into full size remote controlled cars. This sounds interesting and dangerous at the same time.
Sadly, at present this app works only with the special rigged van that features in the demonstration video. The app incorporates buttons for the various controls of the cars like accelerator and breaks. It also includes a steering wheel that uses the iPhones accelerometer capabilities.
The iDriver app communicates with the van via a Wi-Fi connection. This provides the driver with the ability to remotely control their vehicle. A camera on the roof of the car provides visual assistance. This app was developed by researchers from the artificial intelligence team at the Free University of Berlin. But the app was created by the software developers at Appirion UG.
Anyways, the iDriver iPhone app is not available for download as yet. But we hope that this app is made available soon.
