Comedy Central unveils ‘The Colbert Report’ for iPhone

Comedy Central released the first Stephen Colbert application for the iPhone. This new ad supported app called “The WORD” is based on famous segment from the Emmy and Peabody Award-Winning series called “The Colbert Report”. The application brings every WORD video to its fans.

Stephen Colbert fans can enjoy all videos on their iPhone. “The WORD video segment from “The Colbert Report” can be viewed either by date or alphabetically. For users’ convenience, videos can also be searched by the most popular category. To further elevate the experience, the application also features a “Surprise Me!” function. Users can enjoy different clips every day. Amazing new clips are posted and featured every week.

“The Colbert Nation” mobile Website (WAP) has been awarded as the “Best Mobile Web Site” at the 2009 Mobi Awards. The WAP site offers a rich multimedia experience to its users.

Comedy Central Mobile plans to launch new iPhone applications for “The Colbert Report,” along with other popular shows. Users can download Comedy Central Mobile’s joke.com application available at the App Store for $1.99.
