It looks like Sprint is become more environment conscious with each passing day. Sometime back the network carrier introduced a green handset known as the Samsung Reclaim and now Sprint is expanding its collection of eco-friendly devices by unveiling environment friendly accessories like chargers and device cases.
The eco-friendly collection includes an all-in-one vehicle and wall charger, which is at par with the Solio solar powered charger which was earlier offered via Sprint. The charger is inclusive of an inline USB port that enables users to charge two devices concurrently and is compliant with Energy Star guidelines.
“We are pleased to offer Sprint customers ‘greener’ options for their wireless devices. Sprint currently offers more eco-friendly accessories than any other U.S. telecommunications company. Sprint is a leader in the wireless industry with its environmental efforts, as shown by the launch of the Samsung Reclaim, a growing portfolio of eco-friendly accessories and our ambitious wireless recycling efforts,” remarked Ralph Reid, vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility for Sprint.
Sprint is also planning to introduce a new Solio solar powered charger by next month. The Solio chargers facilitate users to charge their device from the sun or via electrical socket. Further, the network carrier has unveiled eco-friendly universal cases for the Reclaim. The cases are made up of sustainable materials like cotton and linen and are recyclable. They come in two sizes and are suitable for all Sprint devices.
Sprint is also aiming to reduce paper usage by 30 percent in a span of five years. As a part of their initiative, the network carrier contributes $2 of the proceeds from the sale of a Reclaim to Nature Conservancy’s Adopt an Acre program.
These green accessories can be purchased via company-owned retail locations or from Sprint’s official website. The all-in-one charger can be purchased for $39.99, while the universal case is retailed for $19.99.
