Chatterboxes can now rejoice, C2Call recently unveiled the iPhone OS 3.0 version of FriendCaller known as the FriendCaller 3. iPhone users can now make free Internet calls to anyone over the Internet.
The FriendCaller website is a user-friendly, browser based VoIP solution that enables users to make free calls from the website to anyone on the Internet. The process is simplified since the person being called need not install any software, does not even require any prior registration. The peer-to-peer calls are effective with any browser on Windows, OS X and Linux. The OS 3.0 app supports the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, 3GS and the iPod Touch (2nd generation).
“The days when users first had to sign up, then download and install software and exchange user IDs prior to talking with each other are gone. Users tell us they are tired of keeping track of the myriads of user accounts, installation updates and passwords, and determining which services their friends are using. Our users simply want the ability to reach out across social networks, browsers and platforms without worrying about all these details – and now with FriendCaller 3, they have that ability not only on their PCs but anywhere they go,” stated Martin Feuerhahn, CEO of FriendCaller developer C2Call GmbH.
To establish a call users simply have to send the Callme links from their iPhone via email to anyone on the Internet, or place their personal Callme links on their social media profiles like FaceBook, Twitter or others. The webphone is started the moment the link is opened on any browser. FriendCaller 3 explores the latest iPhone OS 3.0 feature known as Push notification. This feature enables FriendCaller users to receive call notifications and instant messages on their iPhone screens as a text message.
FriendCaller calls are free, apart from the calls to phone numbers which are charged by minute. It provides global coverage, with calls to most countries in North America and Europe charged just 2 cents per minute. The FriendCaller 3 is now available for download on the Apple iTunes App store.
