TomTom Navigation App for iPhone released

TomTom recently announced the launch of a new application for the iPhone namely the TomTom App. It now claims to serve million of iPhone users with advanced features and technology. The navigation application can be purchased in the Apple’s iTunes App stores now.
The TomTom app claims to be quite distinct and has a new and latest technology. IQ Routes lays its routes on the actual experiences of TomTom’s numerous drivers in order to calculate the fastest route and estimate the most reliable and accurate arrival times. It also enables its drivers to reach their destination faster up to 35% of the time, thus consuming less time.

Besides, the app comes with an extensive safety camera database which includes verified safety camera information in 11 European countries. It ensures that the drivers are informed beforehand about any safety cameras on their route, thereby encouraging road safety and protection, along with saving money on fines.
More benefits provided by TomTom app for the iPhone include efficient routing and maps. Fast routing is offered by the Navigation software along with clear and easy to understand instructions. Services like automatic re-routing make drivers aware in case a turn is missed. It also provides route map during trip planning.
The application also sports a fully optimized user interface that should allow iPhone users to enjoy multiple display options including landscape and navigational view. Different color modes for maximum screen clarity in varying light conditions are also present. Customers can use the interface in 18 different languages and change view settings according to their needs in 2D or 3D map display. Besides there is a convenience of downloading it from iTunes App Store.
Additionally the application supports Multi-touch gestures such as tap, swipe, pinch and zoom to operate the application and zoom in and out of the map. Availability of navigation to contacts in address book, points of interest and call capabilities from iPhone are also present.
For iPhone 3G and 3GS users TomTom for iPhone application is available now on the TomTom website. The TomTom app for iPhone including a map of the region is available for €69.99 and with a map of Western Europe is available for €99.99. Users need to install OS3.0 and iTunes on the PC or Mac in order to use it. Compatibility with iPod touch and other iPhone models are expected to arrive soon in the market.
