BlackBerry Tour 9630 now available through Verizon and Sprint

BlackBerry Tour 9630 UnwiredView reports that after an eager wait, the BlackBerry Tour 9630 is now available for purchase on both Verizon and Sprint.

The dimensions of this device are 112mm x 62mm x 14.2mm and it weighs 130g. The Tour arrives with dual-band CDMA/EVDO Rev A (800/1900 MHz), Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and 2100 MHz UMTS/HSPA. It possesses a 2.44-inch, 480 x 360 TFT display with 65k colors. However, it is not a touchscreen. It is equipped with a 35-key QWERTY keypad along with GPS and A-GPS. BlackBerry Maps is present to help guide travelers to their destination. It sports a full HTML web browser and DataViz Documents to Go.

It packs in Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP for easy file transfers and 3.5 mm headset jack to easily plug in the headphones. It has music and video players as well. It has a 3.2MP autofocus camera with image stabilization, flash and video recording. It has a 256MB internal flash memory and up to 32GB microSD card support. It has a 1400 mAh battery, talktime up to 5 hours and standby time up to 14 days.

Neither of the phones offers WiFi capabilities yet. However, the Sprint version is apparently going to receive it next year.

There is no variance in pricing between the two phones and both cost $199. This puts both the phones on an equal platform so that buyers can choose the preferred carrier.
