Nokia N97 Smartphone This year, the American Independence Day will be even more special with N97 owners receiving a shiny new present from the Nokia company. The firmware version was recently updated on Nokia’s RDS service. In a similar manner, the firmware will be updated on the N97.

According to BGR, it was displayed on the Nokia Conversation’s Twitter account that the “N97 SW 1.1 (11.x.021)” will be ready for purchase on Wednesday, July 1.

A firmware update may not be the answer to all the glitches experienced with the handset such as the space button on the keypad which is off-center. However, it may still considerably reduce many of the problems that users are currently experiencing.

Exact details as to which regions/product codes will have access to the new firmware when the updated phone is launched are not known. This will only be revealed on June 1.
