T-Mobile introduces myTouch 3G Android phone

T-Mobile unveiled the most awaited T-Mobile myTouch 3G phone which is the successor of T-Mobile G1. The handset is sleek and offers a host of latest functionalities. The 3.5” HVGA touch screen display along with virtual keyboard together makes it a slim, smooth and lightweight gadget.
The handset enables users to enjoy an exclusive, individualized wireless phone experience. Moreover it allows users to personalize menus, wallpapers, icons, besides permitting them to select from a range of applications from the Android Market. Further users can also play with themes and skins so as to express themselves better. The mobile phone is presented in black, white and a unique merlot color.

Apart from a plethora of customization features, its profound integration with Google services and Android platform offers easy access to innovative applications. Sherpa is one such application and is designed by Geodelic. The app incorporates GENIE aka Geodelic ENgine for Interest Evaluation. It is a learning engine that automatically customizes itself according to the user’s preferences.
The application is crafted to learn about the users’ likes and dislikes and consequently prioritize recommended retailers, restaurants and attractions. This application claims to be the only one in the market that offers recommendation engine and location relevant information. Android Market is full of applications right from games to location-based social networks and on-the-go shopping. MyTouch enables users to search and download exclusive applications and customize their phone to match their particular interests and lifestyle.

The handset is designed by HTC and boasts a touch-screen display that automatically orients from portrait to landscape mode in majority of applications. Moreover it encompasses a 3.2 megapixel camera and superior video functionalities. It also simplifies recording and sharing of pictures, videos through e-mail, MMS. Users can also upload photos and videos to YouTube and Picasa just by single click. The web experience with the handset is enhanced with Wi-Fi and T-Mobile’s 3G network.

The cellular phone offers multitasking capabilities and one-touch access to Google services that are used on a daily basis by millions of people. Some of these services include Google Search by voice, Google Maps with Street View, YouTube and Picasa. Moreover it makes handling personal and corporate e-mail easy and also supports Exchange, Gmail and the majority of POP3 and IMAP e-mail services. Additionally it allows users to synchronize with Google contacts and calendars.
Further the handset integrates instant messaging support for Google Talk, AOL, Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger. It also permits users to haul the windowshade notification bar by dragging their finger down from the top of the screen. It thus, allows users to view message previews and other handy at-a-glance notifications as per the applications downloaded by them.
Existing T-Mobile customers can pre-order myTouch for $199.99 with a two-year agreement beginning from July 8, 2009. The handset would be available at nationwide retail stores by early August.
