The much-awaited Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 will be available in UK from 30th October. Customers can also pre-order it on Play.com and get free delivery of the phone on day one itself.

This Sim free smart phone with an arc slider design was unveiled by Sony Ericsson in February this year. Xperia X1 has been touted as a “premium mobile experience” and strikes a balance between communication and entertainment. It runs on an advanced version of Windows Mobile enabling users to access their mobile office while on the move. This 3G phone offers internet broadband and Bluetooth connectivity thereby enabling web surfing, video calls, multimedia messaging, instant email and video streaming.

This stylish phone has a 3 inch touchscreen which facilitates easy access to various features. The sliding QWERTY keyboard makes typing and messaging more convenient. Other multiple navigational and input features include an optical joystick, 4-way directional pad and handwriting recognition.

Xperia X1 has a 3.2 MP camera with flash and autofocus. Photos can be shared easily through the picture blogging function. Other features include FM radio, Track ID music recognition and MP3/AAC/MPEG4 player. The internal memory of 400MB is not much, though there is an external microSD slot for expansion.

The Xperia X1 is exorbitantly priced at £599.99 and will be available only in UK.
