The highly anticipated US specific HTC Touch Diamond has finally got through the FCC. After passing FCC tests in the European market, the handset is all set for a US launch.
Besides an official HTC ROM update, the handset will excite North Americans with 3G services as well. A tough contender for the iPhone, the HTC Touch Diamond will also compete with other smartphones in the US with its top of the range VGA display and a fully compatible US 3G HSDPA support that lets the handset take complete advantage of the high-speed networks of Rogers Wireless and AT&T.
With FCC documents confirming a Bluetooth and Wi Fi support, some features of the phone are a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional platform, 4 GB storage, TouchFLO 3D, GSM/EDGE Quad-band, FM Radio 3.2MP auto-focus camera and MicroSDHC card slot.
With no official images out as yet, the US friendly HTC Touch Diamond has obtained the FCC label at last.

The Diamond has a MicroSDHC slot? Is this new just for the US? I don’t believe the Asian or European versions have the MicroSDHC slot…
