BSNL Phones at just Rs. 20 in Uttar Pradesh, India

Few decades back, Landline phones were considered to be a matter of prestige and class, then came an era where the phones had become a necessity to each household, but now we have reached that stage, where landline phones are slowly fading away from our desks. Mobile phones have replaced the traditional old landline phones and we welcomed the age of mobile phones.
Now after all the phases that have passed, BSNL has returned back with an enticing offer for their customers hailing from UP, India. The new scheme proposed by BSNL offers a landline telephone at just Rs. 20 installments per month. The scheme will extend only to the rural parts of Uttar Pradesh though. Although Mobiles may have taken over landline phones, yet there are many people in rural areas in India who rely entirely on a landline telephone.
Another option BSNL offers is a payment of Rs 200 at one time eliminating the monthly charge. With the offer, customers can also avail 20 free calls per month. With Bollywood star Preity Zinta endorsing the brand further, BSNL sure hopes to make it big in the landline telephone section.

what a wonderful offer by bsnl ..!! i think that this will definitely lead to a good increase in the number of landlines connections in UP,in my opinion this scheme should be implemented in the rest of the Indian states so that a poor man can avail the facility of telephone…

This is a good offer. However if they could only offer better service as well there would be no need for giving these offers. Does anyone realize why BSNL and MTNL always keep prices lowest among all?

On the same line of thinking why can’t BSNL slash the broadband rates which is currently 750.00 pm for unlimited. If they can offer say 200.00 pm there will be an internet/eduacational revolution in India since the Indians are very intelligent and smart to study the outside world. The faramr can study new methods of irrigation/agriculture and the vilelage poor can know the job opportunities and current trends in the world. The urban/rural divide may disappear once the broadband is penetrating the vast rural areas.

Hello,
I am very excited about the offer of BSNL in Rural Areas. They should also offer this kind of proposal in urban areas too.
Being a son of retired DET father in DOT & later BSNL I am quite happy. Because I have myself experienced the importance of landline connections in the indian household.

It’s fantastic.
Now, you see the shift of business to rural in India. Both rural land and agri produce are going to gain the center stage.
It will sould Rs. 20 - bsnl will gain moch larger pie from this - as rural india gains - it will be the usage that will drive bsnl to new hieghts - goes with out say - bsnl will have the first mover advantage as well on account of this new innitiative .
Good Luck - to both Rural India and BSNL.
