Dhanus Technologies has launched V-tel, an international calling card which can save upto 95% of the international roaming charges, in India. The card is aimed at Indians traveling abroad, for leisure and business purposes. The mobile service has been launched for GSM subscribers facilitating free incoming calls in 50 countries, charging only Rs.0.49 per minute on calls made to India and a mind-blowing discount of 95% on international roaming across 229 countries with more than 250 mobile phone service providers.

The announcement was made at a plush hotel in the commercial capital of India – Mumbai.

Indians traveling abroad can save themselves from the trouble of carrying different SIM cards for different countries. Unlike other international cards V-tel is not a country specific card. Once the card has been purchased the number stays with the caller for lifetime and can be used to call any of the 229 countries or to call back home.

One of the amazing advantages of V-tel is that it has no hidden costs in billing as well as claims better network and crystal clear voice clarity. The card doesn’t charge any monthly rental and one just needs to pay Rs.999 as activation fee while purchasing it. To keep the card active, a top-up atleast every six-months is needed. Every person gets an exclusive number which is not transferred to anyone else even if the SIM remains inactive for a long time.

After submitting the copy, the person will receive a ‘V-tel Welcome Kit’ with the number on the address mentioned in the passport. It is estimated that around 10 million Indians travel abroad every year. The number is estimated to go upto 35 million by 2010.
