With the buzz of so many launches, there is yet another one. Palm is planning to launch its Treo 800w device. Palm Treo has been making news for quite some time now. It is said to have finally got its D-date. After Palm Centro, they have strived for the arrival of the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional powered Palm Treo 800w.
It is rumored to be launched on 22 June. Well, let’s wait and watch how far this date holds truth. This is the first Palm smartphone with GPS and Wi-Fi.
Palm Treo 800w is the upgraded version of Treo 750w. It is enriched with the modern day equipments. With so many 3G devices coming up, this one will definitely face competition.
Let’s peep into some of its specs. An autonomous GPS, WM 6.1, KB larger than Centro and its keys still light up, Threaded SMS (Palm type and not Microsoft), 320×320 touchscreen display, Wi-Fi and EVDO Rev. A are a few of the things that the 800w boasts. Its official color is said to be black. We hope it still has some more key features to reveal.

You know the Treo 800 is the same phone as every single Treo since the 650 right? Just a few upgrades, that should have been added 5 years ago. It’s funny how Palm will release a phone, then a few months later, release the very same thing, with just a few upgreads. Well, not funny, sad and pathetic. Even IBM has stopped letting Palm use their Java runtime software. I won’t be wasting my money on Treo’s anymore I can tell you that much. RIP Treo…. You were great in 2003, now your just an overpriced toy, with features that are being sold for less from Moto, Samsung and HTC. I just wonder the price tag for the 800? $599.00. Then six months later the Treo 850 will come out for another $599.00. Truly sad……
