Earlier we spoke about how you could catch your favourite shows on TV while traveling and also put an end to boredom while traveling by a bus or train with the new Mobile TV phone. Well here is more to it. AT&T has launched a new mobile TV service with 10 TV channels. To access this new service you need to have an AT&T mobile phone which should also have Qualcomm’s MedioFlo hardware to get access to these 10 channels. Management strategy at its best!!
At present AT&T has only two handsets compatible with the Mobile TV service, they are LG Vu and Samsung Access. The LG Vu and Samsung Access are priced at $300 and $200 (only after signing a contract of two years) respectively. This new AT&T Mobile TV application is said to be available to 58 major cities.
The programming will be from CBS, Comedy Central, ESPN, Fox, MTV, NBC 2Go, NBC News 2Go, Nickelodeon, Sony Pictures and CNN. This service will cost AT&T customers $15 per month. The plan starts at $13 for only 4 channels and gets expensive with an increase in the channel. Unlimited mobile TV, mobile video and mobile web browsing will cost $30 per month.
There has been an increase in the number of consumers who want to watch TV on mobile phones. With the launch of this service let’s see how many users grab these handsets.
