MakeMyTrip Offers MCommerce Ticket Service on Mobile Phones

Don’t want to go for any outing and have no time to book your tickets and plan your trip? Well, it’s no problem at all now. MakeMyTrip, holistic MCommerce for travelers is now offering its customers in India the ability to search, book, pay and even receive their tickets on their mobile phones at no additional cost.
According to Mr. Sachin Bhatia, CMO & Co-Founder, MakeMyTrip.com, explained, “This launch positions MakeMyTrip as the first travel Company to offer a true MCommerce platform for travelers in India. It is our biggest mobile initiative so far and strengthens the existing channels of access that we offer.”
He further added, “Our mobile booking facility is now accessible to the user-base of 60 million Airtel subscribers. This development is also a triumph for our R&D division since the WAP application has been designed indigenously.”
The service which has been launched by MakeMyTrip works anywhere, anytime and does not require a GPRS subscription. MakeMyTrip has joined hands with mChek which offers MakeMyTrip AnyMobile service.
The customers who wish to ‘make their trip’ just need to send an SMS to 543219 typing in “MakeMyTrip”. Then the instruction menu appears on the mobile screen which allows the customers to search, book and pay for their flight tickets through their handsets. Thus, the entire transaction is completed on the mobile phone.

As mChek is an SMS-based service, it is a simple and safe payment system which enables the user to access domestic flight booking services on MakeMyTrip and does not require a PC or Laptop, and works on all handsets. The mobile payment system links user’s credit cards to their mobile numbers with just a single time registration.
The customers then don’t need to enter their credit card number again and again for every transaction as they only need to feed their mChek PIN number in a safe and simple environment. Initially this service is offered to Airtel subscribers. The users with valid and active VISA MasterCard powered credit acrd can only register on mChek.
MakeMyTrip offers benefit which include searching and booking flights on MakeMyTrip even on a go and users can get e-ticket and PNR by sending one SMS. The users can also access it through any handset as no GPRS connection is required. It is also safe for credit card details to be registered when on mChek with 4-digit mChek PIN which is required for booking. It is easy and fast as well as a step by step guide. Easier for users as it instantly books air tickets and delivers it through SMS and email. There is no additional charge for sending the SMS or by MakeMyTrip.
Airtel GPRS subscribers can log onto the MakeMyTrip WAP site through Airtel Live and built an application which provides Airtel users one-click access to MakeMyTrip services. At present, domestic Air Tickets booking facility are provided over the mobile phone using credit card payment mode. PNR details are sent to the customer through email / SMS.
