Nokia known for connecting people is continuously making an effort to bridge the gap between the emerging markets and the established markets. Nokia has unveiled its plan to launch a range of mobile phones for the rural areas aiming to provide some agricultural information. Nokia introduces Nokia 2323 classic and Nokia 2330 classic as its first handsets for the emerging markets.

Nokia Life Tools are a range of new devices that provides agricultural and educational information that is helpful in the rural areas. Nokia and Reuters Market Light (RML) plan to carry out a limited scale pilot in India. This will provide the farmers with regular and up to date information on price and availability of seeds, fertilizers, weather, pesticides and the current market price. This will help them to grow and enhance their agricultural methods that will in turn help them to have a better and an easy standard of living. This information will be available directly on the farmer’s mobile phone.

This sector of the economy needs fresh inputs via technology for the sector to get to a 3 percent growth,” commented Shiv Shivakumar, Vice President, Nokia India. “Education and English language, on the other hand, are springboards for a number of small town and rural youth to move into the employment market. Nokia, through services in Agriculture and Education, will fulfill these opportunities for the Indian population.”

Nokia will change the way you learn as its phone provides you with some educational tips. This service will help the students to improve their English language and also provide them with local, national and international general knowledge which is very much necessary for one to have this knowledge in this competent world. Language lessons, quizzes on English language and phrases were planned out with EnableM for the pilot to give students a bright future. Education service also packs in career guidance, examination tips, quizzes and exam results. The services provided by Nokia uses icon based, amazing graphical interface that comes complete with tables and information can be displayed in two languages. SMS feature is used to provide some needful information.

Nokia first devices for emerging markets with relevant agricultural and educational information Nokia 2323 classic and Nokia 2330 classic are the leading phones in India and will be out on stores in the beginning of first half of 2009 and in late 2009 it will be available for other selected countries of Asia and Africa.
