The Chinese mobile market is flooded with touchscreen phones and the line-up will now include two innovative handsets from Philips, the X806 and the C702, reports UnwiredView. It seems that these touchscreen devices will be launched especially for the Chinese consumers.
Reportedly, the Philips X806 is a 14mm thick handset that incorporates a 3.5-inch TFT display offering 240 x 400 pixels resolution. The phone is equipped with a meager 47MB of internal memory, though it offers MicroSD card support. The touchscreen device also packages a 5 megapixel camera, Bluetooth support as well as FM radio. Further, the X806 supports only quad-band GSM/GPRS connectivity.
Another touchscreen handset that will be introduced in the Chinese market in a short while is the CDMA 1X phone, C702. It is believed that this handset will be launched via China Telecom. The C702 boasts of a 3.4-inch QVGA display and Bluetooth capability. The Philips handset is inclusive of GPS functionality, 1.3 megapixel camera, 70MB of internal memory, MicroSD card support and more.
The pricing details and the launch date of these touchscreen handsets are still under wraps. We have no clue whether Philips handsets will be launched outside China, the official announcement is yet to come. So stay tuned.
