LG Chocolate BL20 officially announced in UK

LG Chocolate BL20 The highly speculated LG Chocolate series handset, the BL20 is finally made official in the UK. The Chocolate series witnessed a similar handset sometime back in the form of the BL40.

The BL20 depicts the characteristics and glossy black surface with red highlights, typically found in Chocolate series phones. The handset packages touch-sensitive controls that are masked on the sides of the phone. The LG device features Widget Hotkeys that facilitate users to personalize their handset and access favorite features including weather, news or personal updates.

“Standing proudly alongside the BL40, the BL20 expands the Chocolate series with a beautiful but practical slider option reflecting our leadership in design. The New LG Chocolate BL20 offers consumers another way to experience the luxurious style and high performance that is symbolic of the LG Chocolate series but at a more affordable price,” mentioned Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

The BL20 is equipped with a 2.4″ QVGA, 240 x 320 resolution TFT display. Further, it packages a 900mAh battery that offers 5 hours of talktime and 450 hours of standby time. The LG mobile phone sports a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash. The device supports Bluetooth 2.1, A2DP and 60MB internal memory. Moreover, it is inclusive of MicroSD card expandable up to 16GB.

Jeremy Newing, head of marketing, LG Mobile UK and Ireland stated, “Boasting advanced new features such as Widget Hotkeys and Clear Memo Capture, the BL20 offers consumers a design alternative to the already successful BL40 with its widescreen display.”

The handset also presents Clear Memo Capture functionality that captures text, handwritten notes and drawings with maximum clarity, enabling users to record information. The sleek device measures 106.9mm x 50.8mm x 12.3mm and weighs 115 grams.

The BL20 will be made available in the UK by Q4, 2009 via O2.
