Sony Ericsson rolls out Xperia X2

Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 Sony Ericsson renowned for their multimedia phones recently brought to fore the Xperia X2 that combines both enetrtainment as well as business oriented functionalities. This sleek Windows phone offers connectivity, synchronizing of mails, editing and allows users to open and edit Microsoft Office Mobile documents.

The Sony Ericsson phone comes with 14 Xperia panels and also permits users to download 16 more. The panels keep users updated with Skype, Mytopia and Google, games, CNN and Windows Live. With the touch interface and innovative 3D signature panel, users can customize panels to explore business, fun and communication features.

This Windows Mobile 6.5 based phone boasts of an 8.1 megapixel camera with up to 16x digital zoom and auto-focus capabilities. The device also features video recording, geo tagging and touch focus functionalities. The Xperia X2 sports a 3.2-inch TFT screen with 480 x 800 pixels WVGA resolution. The device measures 110mm x 54mm x 16mm and weighs 115 grams. The phone memory is up to 110MB and can be expanded up to 16GB.

“Windows phones allow people to manage their whole world – from work to home to play – on a single handset. The XPERIA X2 taps the powerful messaging and multimedia capabilities in Windows Mobile so customers can be in touch, productive and entertained wherever they are,” stated Stephanie Ferguson, general manager, product management, Microsoft Corp.

The GSM device offers a talktime of around 10 hours and standby time of up to 500 hours. However for the UMTS handset, the talktime is up to 6 hours and standby time is about 640 hours. The Sony Ericsson handset is offered in elegant black and modern silver colors.

The Xperia X2 is equipped with Sony Ericsson media player, Windows Media Player, stereo speakers and PlayNow arena and presents a music listening time of up to 20 hours. It features A-GPS connectivity, Google Maps, Wi-Fi and USB support. The Slideview functionality permits users to quickly access regularly used phone activities. The QWERTY device facilitates users to instantly fire a text message or email. Utilizing the TV out cable, users can now show their presentations on the big screen effortlessly.

Apart from the handset, the package incorporates battery, battery charger, stereo portable handsfree MH500, USB cable, TV out cable and 4GB SanDisk microSD memory card. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 is expected to hit the stores by early Q4 2009.
