Vodafone and LG Electronics publicize Windows Mobile driven GM750 handset

Three innovators have come together to present an ultra modern device to their consumers. Vodafone and LG Electronics recently introduced a Windows phone based on Windows Mobile 6.5 dubbed GM750. This phone is expected to reach the markets on October 6, 2009.

The Windows Mobile driven phone packages a host of features and services in a sleek form. The device offers access to personal and work e-mail accounts, calendar synchronization and faster Internet browsing via Vodafone’s high-speed mobile broadband network or Wi-Fi. The mobile phone boasts of a 3-inch full touchscreen facilitating enhanced navigation capability while browsing the Internet, writing text messages and memos, or getting directions by means of its in-built GPS navigation function.

“We’re excited to be bringing a new Windows phone with Vodafone high-speed mobile services to our customers through the exclusive LG GM750 Smartphone. This stylish, touch-screen Smartphone will have great appeal to both consumer and business customers, and ensures Vodafone delivers on its promise to constantly bring customers new services and greater choice,” remarked Patrick Chomet, group global director of Terminals for Vodafone.

They need the technology and services to access e-mail, the Internet and the ability to download widgets, applications and fun tools without complexity. The combination of Vodafone’s services, Windows Mobile 6.5 platform and our S-Class UI, technology and design expertise, makes the GM750 the mobile package consumers with busy lives have been waiting for,” stated Harrison Lee, senior vice president Europe at LG Electronics Mobile.

The GM750 presents an innate user interface that facilitates Vodafone users to customize their handset according to their preferences. Employing third party applications, users can transform the look and feel with a personal background or designer themes. With Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync e-mail, users won’t miss any e-mail on their personal or work account.

The mobile phone permits users to download applications directly to their phone from Windows Marketplace for Mobile. Through the free My Phone service, users can automatically backup and sync photos, music and texts to their PC. With the Windows Live feature, users can connect with their friends on Hotmail or IM as well as on the PC or Xbox video game system. Further, the LG handset is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera.

At the onset, the LG GM750 will hit the stores in seven countries including Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and the UK. The mobile phone will also be introduced in France via SFR.
