Samsung Beat Edition, two new music phones introduced

Samsung, it appears could just be on a mobile launching rampage. The company has introduced two new music centric phones in its very new Beat Edition series, the BEAT-b M3510 and BEAT-s M3200. Drawing on Samsung’s own media experience, the phones sport a candybar and slider designs respectively.

Incorporating Samsung’s Digital Natural Sound engine and Auto EQ, both phones are equipped with dedicated music controls and motion-sensitive functions. So you can now shake the phones iPod nano-style to skip tracks and tap them to play or pause along with an option to put the phone on full mute by placing it face-down on a table.

Both the BEAT-b M3510 and BEAT-s M3200 boast of a 2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphone jacks and Bluetooth A2DP for wireless stereo headphones. They are packed with microSD slots together with 2” 240 x 320 displays, but minus 3G. While the Beat-b is more of a low end phone, the Beat-s is additionally attributed with features like mood based song sorting which turn your track to your current mood status, Samsung’s latest DNSe technology and Bang & Olufsen-sourced ICEpower audio processor for more public listening.

The M3510 is apparently powered by a battery life that should let you enjoy 19hrs music; 5hrs talk time and 250hrs in standby. The M3200 is notch higher offering 21hrs music; 7hrs talk time and 400hrs in standby.

The BEAT-s should hit stores this October while the BEAT-b is expected in September. Though there are no pricing details or carrier partner details, the handsets are rumoured to go easy on your pockets.
