BlackBerry believes it’s still well-positioned in the Indian enterprise handset market

BlackBerry says it’s capable of dealing with the challenges posed by the Indian enterprise market head-on, going so far as to confidently assert that it’s well-positioned for the multi-billion dollar industry. It feels its portfolio of phones across multiple price points and end-to-end mobility solutions are primed for use by businesses here.

The Canadian company may be in a shaky position in terms of mobile hardware, but its enterprise offerings are still held in high regard especially due to the level of security provided to users. Executive Chairman and CEO, John Chen, was seen implying as much in a recent report by PTI which was picked up by The Economic Times.

Chen claims that BlackBerry can proudly boast of being able to deliver the most secure software, devices, servers and network support. BBM remains a popular messenger service owing to this faith in it. The company will adopt an aggressive approach in order to achieve the aforementioned goal. It’s target market covers large, mid-level and small businesses.

Only last year, BlackBerry Enterprise Solutions Centers were thrown open in Mumbai and Gurgaon as part of its continued push into the enterprise mobility market. These were meant to tackle the needs and problems faced by enterprise users by rendering a walk-in customer care experience. There’s been a sense of optimism in the air since the NDA government came into power.

Many tech companies including Google, Xiaomi, Facebook, Samsung and LG have expressed interest investing more resources in India. Ever since BlackBerry rolled out its EZ Pass migration initiative in March this year, 3.4 million new BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 (BES10) clients access licenses have been demanded by customers globally.

BlackBerry already has a decently strong user base in India. Its aggressive campaigning in the enterprise mobility market may be able salvage its dwindling reputation.
