The sale on September 16 is expected to be no different now that the Chinese company has announced that 40000 units of the phone will be put up for purchase on the said date.
That’s because even the first two sales had the same number of devices up for grabs and they were each over in less than 5 seconds. Priced at Rs 5999, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S is quite an exciting proposition as it comes equipped with components that are usually part of higher priced smartphones.
It features a 4.7-inch display which showcases its visuals in 720p HD resolution. This Xiaomi smartphone bears a Snapdragon 400 chipset carrying a quad core processor and 1GB worth of RAM. There’s an 8MP rear camera with flash onboard as well, aside from a 1.2MP front-facing snapper meant for selfies and video calling.
