Get set ready… go! LG plans to give the iPhone class of handsets a tough competition with the introduction of the KB770. The impressive multimedia monster comes with a 3.5g touchscreen and an integrated digital TV tuner.

A key attribute of the LG KB770 is the DVB-T tuner that allows the handset to receive free-to-air digital TV broadcasts. Though this feature is similar to the one in the LGHB620T we are hoping the PDA style format of this handset lends to television better. In case you’re not clear about DVB-T; it is the standard digital field signal that you may watch on your digital TV. The feature makes the LG KB770 distinct among TV capable handsets as users do not require any special infrastructure for this one.

The large 3” touchscreen renders a maximum video capture resolution of 320×240 pixels at 15fps. The LG KB770 comprises of a 3 megapixel autofocus digital camera on the back and a secondary camera on the front for video calling. The PDA additionally sports a microSD slot, stereo Bluetooth and USB connectivity with a battery powered for up to 4 hours of talk time and 12 days in standby time. The smart device is preloaded with some great applications that include a comprehensive multimedia player, email client, web browser and a personal information management application.

We assume the smartphone should exclusive target users in Europe with its tri-band GSM and WCDMA 2100 along with support for GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSPDA data. A 3G/3.5G capable device we’re still wondering about the absence of Wi-Fi support and GPS navigation.

With no information on the availability of the KB770 in other countries, the impressive handset is expected to hit German stores this November at a sim-free retail price of about £360.
