Micromax Canvas Magnus A117 with 1.5GHz 4-core AP launched

Out of the blue, the Canvas Magnus A117 from Micromax has decided to make an appearance online sans any official unveiling. The device is a mid-range addition to the company’s lineup and it should get formally announced in a few days’ time.

Like most smartphones from the manufacturer, the Canvas Magnus pays resemblance to Samsung’s highly acclaimed Galaxy lineup. By the looks of it, the device features a polycarbonate design with a metal or silver coated plastic ring on the sides. It was recently spotted on Snapdeal carrying a price tag of Rs 14,999. The details provided by the online retailers don’t cover the dimensions and weight of the phone, but they do indicate that it has a 5-inch IPS touchscreen on the front.

We’re estimating that the panel will proffer 720p visuals, but nothing can be certain until we receive confirmation. The Canvas Magnus A117 comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and it’s powered by a 1.5GHz quad core processor. There are dual cameras onboard, a 12MP rear lens with LED flash and a 2MP webcam on the front. Other components thrown in comprise of 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory, 32GB microSD card support and a 2000mAh battery.

In recent news, Micromax managed to sign up Hugh Jackman as an endorser for its devices. The Wolverine star first made his appearance promoting the company’s upcoming Canvas Turbo A250 which is speculated to carry a 1080p screen and other powerful components which place the device in the upper mid-range category.
